Bedrock History

In 1986, Butch Rummel began his career in the granite, marble and natural stone industry working with civic memorials, monuments and brilliant sculptures. The quality of his work was so superb that the request for his work was desired both locally and internationally.  Butch has earned multiple awards, certificates and degrees ranging from sculpting to tooling to technology.  Over time, Butch’s experience working with natural stone grew in all aspects of the industry.

In 1999, Gordon Parmenter started working with residential and commercial renovations and has since gained a great amount of knowledge in the networking of various project types. Gordon holds multiple degrees and certifications in both business and information technology.

In 2005, the dream of ownership, for both Butch and Gordon, became a reality with the operation of a granite, marble and natural stone facility.  Butch Rummel and Gordon Parmenter united with partners Joseph Knott and Joseph Rodriguez to establish Bedrock Kitchen and Bath, LLC, now one of the largest granite and marble fabrication companies in both Michigan and Ontario, Canada. Bedrock Kitchen and Bath, LLC has over 65 years combined experience in the natural stone field.  Bedrock Kitchen and Bath, LLC boasts a 60,000 square foot facility containing over 5 million dollars of natural stone inventory and over 2.5 million dollars of the latest state of the art technology and machinery. 

Since 2005, Bedrock Kitchen and Bath, LLC has expanded by leaps and bounds with outstanding success in Michigan and Ontario, Canada.   Bedrock Kitchen and Bath, LLC has a growing staff of 35 team members who all work diligently to meet the high demand of customers requesting our quality products and craftsmanship. Bedrock’s headquarters are located in Port Huron, Michigan and a showroom/warehouse combination in Traverse City, Michigan. They have also expanded to meet their customer’s needs with “Bedrock Express” locations in Grand Rapids, Farmington Hills, Port Huron, Yale, Lapeer, Marlette and Sandusky, Michigan as well as Sarnia, Strathroy, Goderich, St. Thomas, and London, Ontario.
