Cleaning Your Counter Tops
Proper care and maintenance is essential to extending the life and beauty of your natural stone countertops. You should not use any abrasive cleansers that contain ammonia, bleach or acid nor should you use any harsh all purpose cleansers as these can damage the stone surface finish over time. Please read the ingredients carefully on the label of any product that you intend to use on your natural stone countertops. You should dust them with a soft cloth and cleanse them with warm water and a mild cleanser on a regular basis. Do not use any abrasive sponge pads, wire brushes or steel wool to clean your natural stone counter tops. Stone cleansers called “revitalizer” solutions which are made specifically for granite and marble stone are recommended for daily use. These types of cleansing solutions are a combination of a mild cleanser and a sealant offering both cleansing and protection.

Sealing Your Counter Tops
Natural stone is porous. This means it can be penetrated by water, oil or chemicals which can result in damage to the stone surface finish. In some cases your natural stone may have to be resealed. An example of what to look for when trying to determine if your countertop needs resealing is as follows; If while you are wiping the surface of your countertop dry and the stone continues to appear as dark as it was while wet then your countertop is absorbing moisture and will need to be resealed. Resealing your natural stone countertop is a quick and effortless process. After cleaning your countertop with a mild cleanser, allow the surface to dry completely. Once dry, apply sealer as recommended on the label. Allow the sealer to penetrate the stone surface for approximately 5 to 10 minutes then wipe off any excess. Resealing on light to medium colored stone is recommended every 1-5 years. Resealing on most dark colored stone is usually not required; please speak to a stone specialist for more information.
Cleaning Your Sink
Weekly cleansing of your stainless sink is recommended in order to keep the brushed satin finish looking lustrous. Mild all-purpose cleaners mixed with water will help reduce spotting and mineral deposits that are common in hard water. Do not use any abrasive sponge pads, wire brushes or steel wool to clean your sink. You can use a cooktop cleaner to remove any stains and/or fine scratches that your sink may acquire.
